A few considerations on the definition of the logo:
1/ In order to represent the pandemic, we consider first the bereavement that represents the lost lives in the world and in the scientific community.
Thus, I chose the black colour, which symbolizes mourning.
2/ The pandemic led to the acceleration of abundant research in the world (not only in the field of health,
but also of education, sociology, psychology, among others) depending on the effects of the virus on society.
Each research bringing about, at the same time, particular variables, it becomes obvious that the problem encountered
by one nation is the problem of all nations (solidarity versus selfishness). As long as the virus is not restrained in the whole world, new variants will appear (my neighbour's problem is also mine). This process made it necessary to develop systemic solutions. Thus I suggested a picture simulating the perspective of an ellipsoid of revolution (representing the Earth) and the variables emerging from research in different parts of the world as well as the relationships between one another in an implicit graph.
3/In the middle of darkness, in the background, a light shows the role of sciences
and humankind attempting to solve those questions.
4/ The red, blue and white colours pay tribute to the country in which ASI was born: France.
